Construction cost estimate report

A QS-style cost estimate report. Authored, not templated.

Opening summary, trade breakdown, allowance disclosures, recommended next steps — written end-to-end. Built for builders and developers who need decision-grade clarity.

Senior-QS narrative, automated

Opening summary, methodology, allowance disclosures, recommended next steps. Written end-to-end, not generated from boilerplate.

Full trade transparency

Every cost category visible, every assumption disclosed, every provisional item flagged.

Decision-grade output

Built to support a "should we tender / should we acquire / should we proceed" call — not just a number.

What you actually get

The deliverable is a PDF report alongside an editable BOQ workbook and per-trade subcontractor packs. Built to be read, shared, and acted on — not just filed.

  • Opening summary tailored to the specific project
  • Final estimate ex-GST and inc-GST with measured / provisional / allowance split
  • Project snapshot — type, scope, NRA, BCA class, where applicable
  • Trade-by-trade breakdown across 14+ categories
  • Assumption disclosures — where consultant input is missing, where rates need re-confirmation
  • Key allowances explained with the reasoning behind each one
  • Recommended next steps — further documentation, consultant scope, supplier qualification
  • Key limitations stated explicitly

How it works

Step 01

Upload your DA-stage plans

Architectural set is enough. Engineering and consultant drawings improve accuracy where supplied.

Step 02

We author the report

Measurement, pricing, narrative — usually inside three hours for a single dwelling.

Step 03

You receive a decision-grade pack

PDF cost report + Excel BOQ workbook + per-trade subcontractor packs.

Frequently asked questions

Why "QS-style" and not just "QS"?

Because we are a digital estimating service, not a licensed Quantity Surveyor firm. The output mirrors what a senior QS firm would produce, but legally it is a digital cost estimate, not a certified QS opinion.

Can I show this report to my client or financier?

Yes — many builders and developers do. The report is structured to support discussions with clients, lenders, financiers, and consultants. The methodology, assumptions, and limitations are all transparently disclosed.

What is the difference between this and a traditional QS report?

Speed (hours vs weeks), cost (a fraction of consultant fees), and the legal status (digital service vs licensed QS opinion). Same structural output, different cost and turnaround.

Can you sign the report as "authored by my firm"?

For named-customer white-label engagements, yes. The configuration includes brand identity, voice, and signing authority overrides. See our feasibility page for more on white-label setup.

What if some of my plans are missing detail?

Standard for DA-stage. Anything requiring consultant input is flagged as an allowance or assumption. The report calls out specifically what was unclear and what was assumed.

Is there a sample I can review?

Yes — view our sample report for the full structure on a representative single-dwelling project.

Want a real report on a project you already know?

Send us a past job we’ll run it for free so you can compare the output directly against work you already have a price for.
